A getting ready for festivities with family riddles, unicorn and dalek impressions and songs in praise of vegetables and buses. No raffle.
Hegley is known as a poet and singer with a common and comedic touch, hence the quotation from The Observer, 'Awesomely mundane'. The poet Adrian Mitchell said of him: 'Just because he is one of the funniest men alive, do not underestimate his dedicated gentleness.' And The Luton News said that his lyrics, '...quite often make little sense' |

Keith Allen presents Ed' Tudor Pole

An evening with Keith Allen as compere/cook with special guest Ed Ten Pole Tudor.
Ed' Tudor Pole & his band 'Ten Pole Tudor' enjoyed a number of UK Hit Singles between 1979 and 1981, with their signature Hit being 'Swords Of A Thousand Men' which hit the u.k charts at UK no 6 in 1981. Ed' Tudor Pole, a descendant of Henry VIII, fell in with The Sex Pistols in 1978 after the departure of John Lydon from the band, however, 2 weeks into the Pistols bassist Sid Vicious died, and the rest is history. After a wait of over twenty-five years the new 3rd Ten Pole Tudor Album "Made it this far" is out now. |

Bluebird - Puppet Show

Bluebird is a devised Bunraku-style puppetry performance
based on the Maeterlinck play The Bluebird. Aimed at children
(perfect for 5-8 year olds!), Bluebird is the story of a
brother and sister who go on a magical journey in search
of the Bluebird of Happiness. Their adventure takes them
on a journey to many different lands that are terrible, tempting
and wonderful. Through their journey, they discover that
true happiness was closer than they ever suspected.

Edwina Ashton

In her videos and animations, Edwina Ashton
brings a number of dreamlike creatures to life. Through a
mixture of slapstick and pathos, she explores the allure of
eccentricity and idiosyncrasy, often through the use of insects
and bugs given human attributes to ridicule British politeness.

Forward, site09 Darbyshire Award winner. Forward's work explores
the uneasy and complex relationship between man and nature.
The migration of plants, colonisation and the use of both
maps and bees as symbolic tools are all significant themes
within her work.
