4. Self-Publishing artist’s books

Publishing and printing has always presented artists and photographers with problems, not least the expense of printing and the need to live with several hundred books under the bed.
In the past couple of years this has changed and now it’s possible to print and publish your own images in high quality books for very little outlay - typical prices range from around £8 - £25 per copy depending on size and binding and with no need to print and buy more than one copy. Books have become a new and very exciting way to send material to potential customers or to galleries. They can also be viewed and purchased by contacts and members of the public online.

Course details
Production is quite straight forward, using the free software most companies provide or using application such as InDesign.
at the end of the course, Participant’s will be able to:
• assemble a book from templates contained in the software, using their own images.
• use Photoshop to make slight adjustments to the images.
• check the files and upload them to the publisher. Production takes around 10 days, and when completed copies of your newly printed book will drop through your letter box.
• This initial course will be facilitated by lecturer, digital artist and photographer Kel Portman

Saturday 29th November morning 9:30 -13.00

Numbers: Participants are limited to 6, so first come first served.
