Artists talks

Selling your art without selling your soul
A workshop on selling art run by Tom Brereton Downs and Fiona Cassidy from Artolo
SVA, 4 John Street, Stroud GL5 2HA
Thursday 1 November 7-9pm
Free

Artolo - www.artolo.com is a new platform for buying and selling art and which is soon to be released to invited testers. Artolo is keen to provide artists with the means to selling their art without selling their souls and to do this effectively we want to discover what artists find difficult and what the barriers to selling are. It is our experience and belief that there are loads of buyers that currently do not buy art because of fear and that the internet does not currently work for visual art in the way that it does for music or literature. We aim to change that. In the session we will discuss the issues of generating, sustaining and improving your income as an artist. The workshop is free, informal and usually fun.

It's already been a whole year since Create Gloucestershire was launched at our Open Space event in Cheltenham.

Much has happened since then, and to celebrate we'd like to invite you to a party, where we'll be dishing up tasty food, drink and something rather special cooked up by Gloucestershire artists.

We will also be launching our new Associate Members scheme to broaden the ways in which Gloucestershire's creative minds, movers and makers can work together to find imaginative and exciting approaches to the ever-changing economic landscape.

Our party takes place at the gorgeous Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester on Friday 2nd November 2012 from 6pm - 9.30pm.

We're keen to enable families to come, so will be making sure the event is welcoming for anyone aged 10+. Full details to follow, but I wanted to get the date in your diary asap.

Admission to the party is totally free - click on the link above for tickets from our Eventbrite party page. Spaces are limited so book in as soon as you can. If you do book but then can't make it, please tell us so we can give your place to someone else.
