Site Festival June 2011 : A festival of artist-led projects

site11 logoThe site festival, now in its 15th year will present the work of over 300 artists in over 80 sites across the Stroud Valleys during the whole month of June. The site festival provides a platform for artists and artist collectives to show new work, to initiate projects, work collaboratively or alongside other artists in a diverse range of sites across the district for a month long programme of exhibitions, open studios, film screenings, talks, music events and performance.

Invitation for submission of proposals
Site Festival is inviting artists to submit project proposals for this year’s Site Festival programme. Projects can include site-specific based works, screenings, talks, workshops, exhibitions, performance events etc. The Site Festival often acts as a conduit between artists and vacant properties, redundant sites, venues and festival
partners.

Alias Hubs at SVA
Alias Hub meet Friday 28 January 11am

Alias Hubs function as a focus for a network between artists and artist groups. The hubs aim to be an informal place to meet where interests can be
profiled and discussed. This meeting at SVA will be the first of a series of regular Friday morning coffee breaks.

About Alias
A programme of seminars are planned each year, organised by artists in direct response to the needs and current issues. Alias often acts as a contact point

Resound 2011

Resound is a three day event of diverse sonic experimentalism including installations, live performance, web based work, specialist DJ slots, workshops plus a library of work and interactive sound pieces. The last event took place at SVA, Stroud and was part funded by Alias, an organisation that supports artist led initiatives. It focused on artist led radio and the influence it has had on contemporary arts practice. The three day event featured presentations talks and discussion with artists and curators who have been involved with a wide range of artist led radioprojects. The next Resound festival will take place at the end of March and will be hosted in Falmouth, Cornwall. For more information go to www.sva.org.uk
