SVA Internship recruitment:
Website, social media, membership and technical support

This paid internship has been created as part of the Creative Employment Programme. The Creative Employment Programme is an Arts Council England fund to support the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for unemployed young people wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector. There are certain criteria you must meet in order to be eligible to apply for a Creative Employment Programme funded internship. At the time of applying you must be aged 18 to 24 years old and you must be registered as unemployed with Jobcentre Plus. These eligibility criteria have been approved by the Department of Work and Pensions.

Summary
Stroud Valley Artspace (SVA) is a cultural hub created by and for artists in the heart of Stroud. For the last 18 years it has offered studio and exhibition space, opportunities for artists’ professional and creative development and a year round artistic and educational programme for local, regional and national audiences.

Type of person you are looking for
We need a bright, enthusiastic and articulate young person who is very committed to developing their skills, self motivated and has a really strong desire to gain arts management, website and marketing skills. Artistic skills and experience are desirable but not essential.

Rate of pay: £6 (18-20) £7 (21-24)
Contracted hours: 30 hrs per week to fall within SVA’s office and programme hours. This may include some evening and weekend work.

Duration of contract: 6 months

Responsible to: Jo Leahy , SVA co-director

Purpose Of The Role
To support the SVA’s team with developing new audiences and members through the website, database and social media.This is an opportunity to be closely involved in a many aspects of SVA and to learn from experienced people about art, marketing and event management.
