Continued Support for SVA

SVA is very pleased to announce that we will be continued to be funded by Arts Council England as part of the new National Portfolio.

SVA presented a very strong business case to Arts Council England which was based on SVA's excellent 15 year record of supporting a thriving artistic community
and bringing in thousands of visitors to enjoy the vibrant cultural life which Stroud has to offer.

The annual Site festival in June will be a fantastic opportunity to really celebrate the dynamic quality of the Stroud Art scene.

Now with the continued support from ACE and also SDC we can continue to deliver an exciting and engaging programme of artistic and educational events for all to enjoy.

Site Festival June 2011 : A festival of artist-led projects

The Site Festival, now in its 15th year provides a platform for artists and artist collectives to show work and in a diverse range of sites across the district for a month long programme of exhibitions, open studios, film screenings, talks, music events and performance.

The big news about this year’s festival is that a new partnership has been formed between SVA the festival coordinators and Stroud Arts Festival an organisation with a 65 year track record for supporting the arts in the District. The new partnership sees SAF making a substantial contribution, financially and creatively towards the Site Festival’s future success. As a result of SAF's creative contribution a whole weekend dedicated to poetry and spoke word will be launched as part of the Site Festival programme.

The deadline for open studio application has now past. The Site Festival has received many exciting project proposals from artists for this year’s programme and the plans are currently being finalised. More news soon.
