Campers Info and Kit List

The Camp runs from 4pm Friday 25th June to 4pm Sunday 27th.
The camp has been planned as an integrated collaborative exploration and we encourage participants to stay for the duration of the event to experience all it has to offer. See programme for more details.

Getting to Westley Farm:

Google map of the location click here
The entrance to Westley Farm is signed at the top of Cowcoombe hill on the A419 (on the left coming from Stroud). It can also be approached from the track that leads down from the large lay-by opposite Astondown Gliding club/air field.

Travel:

We would like participants to consider using an appropriate form of transport. By bike or donkey is good if you have the legs. Nearest train stations are Stroud or Kemble both approximately 6 miles from Westley farm. However, rural bus services are practically non-existent. If you are coming by car please consider sharing or giving a lifts to the car-less.

If you are coming by train, or are a car-less local and need a lift, or if you can offer a lift from Stroud or elsewhere please contact us at camp0@mundusloci.org

Arrival:

From the a149 follow the track down towards Westley Farm. Campers parking is in the first field on the right at the bottom of the hill (Day visitor parking is in the lay-by on the A419 opp Aston down Gliding club).

The entrance to the camp is through the gate on the left. The CAMP 0 site is a bit of a walk from the parking area but hand operated mono-wheel luggage transportation systems (wheelbarrows) will be available for getting your kit to your pitch. .  Please seek advice from someone who knows before pitching your tent.

Timing:

Campers can arrive and set up any time on Friday. The official start is 4pm. The Potlatch picnic and introductions will commence at 6pm

Food:

On Friday evening please bring food to share for evening Potlatch Picnic. There will also be soup available for a small fee from the café bar.
Saturday and Sunday breakfast and Saturday evening meal will be provided at no extra cost, but there is no such thing as a Free Lunch. The Café/Bar will provide reasonably priced lunches, or you are welcome to bring your own food.
The ‘Free Beer’ is ‘Free’ as in free speech only. But we know we are all more than happy to support the wonderful Stroud Brewery with cash. Other beverages will also be available from the bar.

Facilities:

Facilities will be basic. There will be compost toilets and basic washing facilities but no showers. If anyone would like to take on the challenge of building a solar shower for the event contact us at camp0@mundusloci.org
